ArtStor Digital Library
Queens College subscribes to ArtStor as well as their additional platform Shared Shelf, which allows us to create and share our own institutional collections, plus the collections of other participating CUNY schools. With both of these services, students and faculty have access to millions of images through one discovery point, and they all come with accurate, extensive background information.
We currently have two institutional collections available in ArtStor: - The Visual Resources Collection, which houses varied images for art and art history teaching, usually added at the request of faculty - The Gothic Architecture Collection, a more specific library featuring black and white photographs of Gothic and Medieval architecture in France and England, acquired from Brown University. |
Since ArtStor is a subscriber service, you'll need to access it through the Rosenthal Library portal. Click the link above or visit the Rosenthal Library Databases page to get full access to ArtStor. When logging in from an off-campus network, you'll be prompted to type in the barcode on the back of your QC ID.
The ArtStor YouTube page has excellent tutorials on how to use all of their tools, but if you need additional assistance accessing or using ArtStor feel free to contact the VRC for assistance by email, phone, or in person! |
